WHITE OAK RUSTIC 3/4" - 4'X8' CLASSIC CORE II PLANK MATCHED |
|
 | Classic Core greatly enhances face appearance and provides a smooth, even surface which eliminates telegraphing. It is the perfect substrate in hardwood plywood used for tables, desk tops and high gloss finishes. Classic Core also eliminates finishing problems such as blotching caused by knot holes or open joints under the veneer.
Made from engineered aspen flakes that are significantly longer than they are wide, Classic Core has the strength of veneer core, yet is 30 percent lighter than board core. Classic Core is beautiful to work with. Its solid core quality makes it easy to machine.
Rustic White Oak color ranges from golden to dark brown with light tan and pinkish overtones and may contain mineral streaks and bright sapwood. This natural grade contains sound character marks, tight knots and bird pecks.
Classic Core MDF crossband provides a smooth, hard surface of higher density than traditional veneer core which reduces the potential for core imperfections telegraphing through decorative veneer overlays. Classic Core also significantly reduces finishing problems stemming from allowed open knot holes or small, open joints under the hardwood veneer face in standard veneer core constructions. Fabricators should also consider Classic Core as a substrate for Columbia's prefinished UV Wood™.
Columbia's Classic Core line offers a complete range of Columbia decorative hardwood veneer species. Columbia also offers Classic Lam intended for laminating, custom veneer lay-up and paint applications. Classic Lam is the same MDF and veneer innerply construction without the decorative wood veneer overlays.
PLANK-MATCHED VENEERS: Plank-Matching is a deliberate random mismatch designed to visually redistribute prominent natural characteristics in some species.
